Consulting Project with Impact Hub: March 5 - May 11
GCN is currently recruiting student consultants for a project with Impact Hub Geneva!
The Impact Hubs in Geneva and Lausanne are developing the Sustainable Living Lab (SLL), a project aiming to support cross-sector collaborations that foster sustainable living solutions. Consultants will be examining each of the SLL's components (social lab, food save challenge, and the open lab), and developing a strategy for growth aligned with stated mission and desired impact.

Consulting Project with ROIA: February 26 - May 4 2018
ICT non-profit ROIA is developing a new crowdfunding platform, Skills Under Siege, to connect Syrian grassroots projects to global audiences. This project aims to raise funds for Syrian recovery as well as enable cross-cultural communication between Syrians and communities around the world. GCN consultants are carrying out a full review of the platform and developing a marketing strategy to achieve maximum outreach. Tasks will include market research, cost-benefit analysis on implementation strategy, and the identification of key performance indicators.
CaseSolvers Workshop: 1 December 2017
The Geneva Consulting Network, with the support of the Alumni Relations and Career Services Department of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, hosted a workshop with professional training firm CaseSolvers. The event helped participants to learn and practice the skills and strategies needed to tackle consulting problems.
Consulting Immersion Day: 18 May 2017
A half-day program exposing students to consulting work and applications, including a case-solving workshop, a CV workshop, and a roundtable with Graduate Institute alumni working at McKinsey & Co., Dalberg, Vera Solutions and PricewaterhouseCoopers about their experiences in consulting careers. Organized in collaboration with the Graduate Institute Alumni Relations and Career Services Department.
Exchange with the Consulting Club at the University of St. Gallen: 12 May 2017
Four Graduate Institute students, accompanied by two Geneva Consulting Network Executive Board members, traveled to Zürich and St. Gallen for a half-day workshop and networking opportunity with Roland Berger, and a chance to meet and network with GCN's St. Gallen counterpart, the Consulting Club. Four St. Gallen students subsequently visited Geneva for Consulting Immersion Day.
Consulting Project with UNICEF: 4 May - 30 June 2017
A consulting team of four Graduate Institute students undertook a three-month-long project to help UNICEF evaluate the monetary worth of its non-financial engagement with the private sector under the guidance of professional consultants. This is the second project GCN has done with UNICEF, after our inaugural project in March-May 2016. Terms of Reference here.
Consulting Project with Enda Athletic: 15 March - 15 May 2017
Two teams of four Graduate Institute students conducted two projects for Enda Athletic, a small start-up with a social purpose in Kenya. The Corporate team developed a business strategy for Enda, while the Social team explored ways for the small company to create value for the community. Consulting Project with UN Women: 15 October - 30 November 2016
A GCN Executive Board member and one Graduate Institute student worked with our partner consultancy SustainableOutreach to help devise a private sector fundraising strategy for UN Women. Terms of Reference here.
Consulting Project with the International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance: 15 June - 15 September 2016
A team of three GCN Executive Board members and one Graduate Institute PhD student helped IRHA rethink its mission, organizational structure and business strategy during this intensive summer project.
Case-Solving Training with CaseSolvers: 12 May 2016
GCN hosted case interview trainers CaseSolver for a half-day workshop for 30 Graduate Institute students, who learned how to approach cases and how to prepare for consulting interviews. The workshop was followed by a CV workshop and personal interview training session hosted jointly with the Graduate Institute Alumni Relations and Career Services Department.
